As a renter, I’m tired of seeing MHA treat new apartments like a nuisance while million-dollar single-family homes pay nothing toward our housing fund.

This "Grand Bargain" is essentially a tax on young people and middle income earners that makes it harder to build the homes we desperately need. If we want real equity, we should stop taxing the production of housing and start asking the people sitting on massive land wealth to finally pay their fair share. It’s time to end these counterproductive fees and fund affordability through a broad-based tax that includes everyone, not just the people who can't afford a single family home.
