I know I am preaching across sectarian lines, but homelessness is not due to an insufficient number of buildings. It’s a values problem which leads individuals to get so distraught (because fundamental moral needs are unmet, like belonging to a family) that they cannot live within normal (and societally agreed upon) human structures, such as “family”, “apartment community”, “neighborhood”, et cetera. Your approach to “homelessness” only serves to promote a revolution in society - a revolution being promoted by an insurgent set of elites against an incumbent set of elites. Your revolution, if fully realized, will only harm ordinary people, because your revolution will absolutely deny the fundamental moral needs of people, as part of creating a new society that serves the insurgent elites.

I speak from the position of losing a loved one to personality disorder, which was continuously portrayed as a “authenticity” by authority figures, but which practically resulted in them living on the streets, living in homeless shelters, and ultimately, seeing the destruction of all their meaningful family relationships. Please pause and reconsider your advocacy.
